Nei primi del Novecento, in una dimora aristocratica, la padrona ha appena partorito. Il bambino, però, è nato morto. Nella stessa casa, una domestica ha diciotto anni e un figlio da allattare. La prima desidera essere madre ad ogni costo, l’altra un futuro diverso da quello già scritto per lei. L’ incontro fra le due le porterà a confrontarsi con i loro desideri più profondi e a compiere una scelta che cambierà radicalmente le loro vite.

Early 1900’s. In a noble house, the mistress has just given birth, but the baby was a stillborn child. In the same house, an 18-year-old servant has a child to nurse. The first one wants to be a mother at all costs, the latter wishes a different future. Their encounter will lead them to confront themselves with their deepest desires and to make a choice that will change their lives in a radical way.
