Salvatore ha poco più di sessant’anni ma soffre già di Alzheimer. Vive in una grande casa conEster, la sua unica figlia, e ogni giorno, nel suo laboratorio, aggiusta un vecchio carillon dentro il quale una piccola bambola gira sulle note di una nostalgica melodia. Quella musica e laballerina gli ricordano sua moglie, Mariuccia, morta da tempo. E quando il suo ricordo si trasforma in tristezza arriva Ester che si traveste da sua madre perché questo è l’unico modo per avere un rapporto con lui, ma non solo. Lei lo fa anche per dare alpadre una parvenza di normalità, un briciolo di speranza seppur inconsapevole. Ed è anche perquesto che la ragazza, ogni giorno, smonta il carillon su cui lavora Salvatore.

Salvatore is just over 60 years old but already suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.He lives in a big house with his only daughter, Esther, and every day in his workshop he fixes an old music box in which a little doll spins to the notes of a nostalgic melody. The music and the dancer remind him Mariuccia, his wife, who died a long time ago. And when his memory turns to sadness, Ester comes along and disguises herself as his mother because this is the only way she can have a relationship with him, but not only. She also does it to give her father a semblance of normality, a shred of hope, albeit unconsciously. And it is also for this reason that the girl takes apart the music box Salvatore works on every day.
