“Anna” è la storia di una donna che vive in quel mondo enigmatico, sofferente, distante, illusorio chiamato Alzheimer. Anna vive la sua malattia, a uno stadio precoce, quasi senza accorgersi di dove sia il confine tra la realtà e la fantasia, i suoi sogni e i suoi incubi. Qui, nel silenzio, nella solitudine, nella pace del luogo affacciato sul mare, tra oggetti e sensazioni legati al passato e che riaffiorano ovunque posi lo sguardo, Anna comincia lentamente a ripercorrere episodi della sua infanzia, alternando immagini delicate e oniriche ad altre, invece, minacciose e inquietanti. Anche la sua stessa immagine riflette le sue paure e la malattia che avanza senza che lei ne abbia completa consapevolezza. Perché è questa la “pietà” insita nell’Alzheimer: non avere coscienza di quello in cui ci si sta trasformando, o averla a sprazzi, dolorosi sprazzi.

“Anna” is the story of a woman who lives in that enigmatic, suffering, distant, illusory world called Alzheimer’s. Anna experiences her illness at an early stage, almost without realizing where the boundary is between reality and fantasy, her dreams and her nightmares. Here, in the silence, in the solitude, in the peace of the place overlooking the sea, between objects and sensations linked to the past and which resurface wherever I look, Anna slowly begins to retrace episodes of her childhood, alternating delicate and dreamlike images with others. , threatening and disturbing. Even the very image of her reflects her fears and the disease advancing without her being fully aware of it. Because this is the “pity” inherent in Alzheimer’s: not being aware of what you are turning into, or having it in flashes, painful flashes.
